When a magic trick results in the death of her pet bird Pokey, Edie secretly tries to bring her back to life. Kit, an odd neighborhood boy who thinks he can fly, interferes with her efforts to revive Pokey. Edie’s desire to make Pokey live again pushes Kit to prove himself, with tragic consequences that ultimately help Edie look into herself to find a deeper meaning of magic.
